Two young entrepreneurs from Milton Keynes are celebrating after scooping the New Business title at the Milton Keynes Business Achievements Awards 2015 last week.
Ollie Fox and Phil Stanley, owners of Formula Fast karting, one of the UK’s longest indoor karting tracks, took the title following stiff competition from other start-up businesses in Milton Keynes.
The presentation took place at a black tie event at the Hilton Hotel on Thursday 12 March where over 200 business attended, including guest speaker, British journalist Kate Adie OBE, DL.
Mr Stanley said: “We were delighted enough to have been shortlisted but to actually win is incredible and a real testament to the hard work, sweat and belief we put into Formula Fast.
“We would like to thank all of our team and staff for their dedication, the public for their loyalty and to our families for their continuous; without all of this we would not be in the position we are today.”
The New Business category was aimed at start-up businesses with between 12 and 24 months of trading and operations behind them.
Judges looked for visionary, innovative enterprises that identified a clear market, service or product niche, or had taken a bold step to launch a new venture in an existing market or professional sector.
Formula Fast, located in Mount Farm in Bletchley, launched in 2013 and has since become one of the most popular leisure facilities in the region, attracting enthusiasts locally, nationally and internationally.
The karting track is currently number one on Tripadvisor in the category of Sights and Landmarks.
