Formula Fast Karting in Mount Farm, Bletchley, hosted the British Schools Karting Championships final on Tuesday 17th March 2015.

Ten schools from around the UK sent teams of three drivers to familiarise themselves with the circuit – one of the biggest indoor circuits in the UK – in preparation for the local final in two weeks’ time. The fastest time recorded on the night was set by Silverstone UTC – VS at 34.353 but was closely followed by Silverstone UTC GA who were just 0.008 (or 8 thousandths) off – setting the final up to be very close.

Owner and race organiser at Formula Fast, Oliver Fox, said: “This is the first time we have hosted the BSKC, it’s fantastic to see karting being pushed through schools around the country. The calibre of racing last night was extremely good and across a variety of ages which will make for an entertaining final here later in the month.”

Now in its ninth year, the BSKC offers students aged 13 to 18 the opportunity to take part in an exciting, nationwide knockout karting competition that does not require previous experience, equipment or substantial expense.

Nicola Bush, BSKC Manager, said: “Teams can once again put themselves on the grid to race in the largest schools karting competition in the country. The BSKC was created to make karting more accessible to schools. It appeals to students from different backgrounds and its low cost allows everyone to take part.”

As well as the overall BSKC champions, regional champions will be crowned for teams competing in London & South East, South West, East of England, Midlands, North East, North West, South and Scotland.
