So… To the amazement to all staff present that day, Bradley Philpot managed to smash the lap record.
Quite honestly we knew he would beat it – but if Usain Bolt ran the 100m a tenth faster tomorrow you would most likely be impressed, shrug it off and continue posing like him on our podium.. But, imagine if he strolled into the stadium, wearing just jeans and loafers, only to smash his own record by 2 seconds. You see my point?
Rewind a couple of hours, Bradley wasn’t even planning on karting that day – but he decided to go out for a quick blast in our ‘Super Sunday’ open race. Whilst the racing bug was working its way into Bradley’s mind – we noticed he was hovering within hundredths of the current record… Inevitably, he beat it.
From that evening on, myself and fleet manager, Conor, watched in awe as Bradley worked his way through the 10ths, only to finally find himself in the land of 32 seconds, an exclusive club. We just wonder if anyone else will join him…
